Nobel school offers ‘Wider Community Adult and Family Learning’, three/four evenings a week, within a 4.30-9.30 window and is now recognised as an established centre for learning with anywhere between 12-16 courses and activities on offer each term, focused around local need. Approximately 1100 community users pass through the site within our existing lettings and programmes each week

The programme of courses include recreational, vocational and academic courses, some with accreditation. Courses change termly, in order to cater for specific identified needs. The courses are run in partnership with a number of bona fide providers including North Herts College, The Herts Family Learning Service and The WEA as well as other external providers that also work for the school.

Nobel is committed to serving the community and our flexible approach to partnership arrangements and the commissioning of services is creating a sustainable model for community delivery that meets locally identified need.

 Who are you descended from? Everyone’s family has a story to tell; where did they live?, what did they do? This taster that will provide you with a way of recording basic information.  It will look at family memories and how to verify the ‘facts’, documents found at home to help with family research and photographs as a reminiscence tool,. Try our two hour taster on how to start tracing your family and see where the journey takes you.

 

TEXTURED HEADS HAIR CARE

An opportunity to learn and raise awareness about different types of hair textures, maintenance and hair care for adults and children of all backgrounds, including Mixed-heritage, European, Black & Asian.  The “taster” session will involve looking at the problems and solutions of 5 different hair types and providing general guidance tips on hair care, style and  maintenance.  A bespoke fascinating workshop which could lead to a longer course if desired.
